How Did Albert Einstein Die
Albert Einstein died on April 17, 1955 at the age of 76. The cause of death was an abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Dr. Rudolph Nissen in 1948 had attempted to repair this very problem surgically. Experiencing internal bleeding, Einstein went to Princeton Hospital, carrying along a draft of a speech he was to give via television commemorating the State of Israel’s seventh anniversary. Einstein refused to allow the doctors to operate in an attempt to repair his abdominal aorta.
His brain was preserved, but his body—cremated and his ashes scattered at an undisclosed location.
